U.S. Supreme Court: Honest services wire fraud statute pared down. In an opinion by Justice Ginsburg, the U.S. Supreme Court substantially narrowed the honest services fraud statute. The court found that section 1346 covers only bribery and kickback schemes. Skilling v. United States, cite as 561 U.S. ____(2010).
U.S. Supreme Court: In order to halt police questioning, a suspect must invoke his right to remain silent, explicitly, unambiguously, and clearly. Once a suspect invokes his right to remain silent explicitly, all questioning by the police must cease. Berghuis v. Thompkins, cite as 560 U.S. _____(2010).
